Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) will begin accepting applications for Winter Heating on Tuesday, Dec.22, 2020, at www.okdhslive.org. Online applications are welcome at www.okdhslive.org if you need assistance with your main heating utility bill.

Okdhs-Live

Some households receiving public assistance through OKDHS were pre-authorized to receive winter heating assistance and do not need to apply. These households have already been notified that they meet the winter heating eligibility requirements. Those households that did not meet the preauthorized selection, but are receiving OKDHS assistance, received a letter informing them of the Winter Heating open enrollment period.

The Winter Heating Assistance program does not cover emergency heating needs, and the LIHEAP credit may not appear on your utility bill for up to a full billing cycle from the date that it was applied.

FAQs

How do I get a client’s user ID and Password to see their renewal screens on OKDHS Live?

NEVER ask for an OKDHS User ID and password from a client. Activating OKDHS Live will bring up the renewal screen. Logging in with your own User ID and password and clicking “Renew My Benefits” will let you renew your benefits. Please enter the Social Security OKDHS Phone Number and the date of birth of the payee on the Client Information page. After that, enter the current mailing zip code of your case on the zip code confirmation page.

How do I log in to a client’s renewal screens on OKDHS Live?

The renewal screens will appear in OKDHS Live! After logging in with your own User ID and password, click on “Renew My Benefits”. Fill out the Client, Information page with the payee’s Social Security OKDHS Phone Number and their Date of Birth. After that, you need to enter the case’s current mailing zip code on the zip code confirmation page.

Can I get a printout of what the client entered in OKDHS Live?

Definitely. It can be accomplished in two ways:

1.) Check out the client’s Renewal Screens on OKDHS Live! The only screen you will see once the renewal application has been submitted is one that offers you the option to “See My Renewal”.

What is the average wait time when someone calls OKDHS Live! OK DHS Phone Number?

Like reception wait times, the wait time can vary greatly depending on the time of day and the day of the month. The goal is to have a wait time of no more than two minutes. On some weeks of the month, clients can wait for as little as 20 seconds. During the week of the deadline as well as around the 5th of the month (when clients are notified that their renewals are due) the wait time averages 4-5 minutes. During high volume times, wait times may reach 10 minutes or more, but that is the exception and definitely the upper end of the spectrum.

Final Words

Some households receiving public assistance through OKDHS were pre-authorized to receive winter heating assistance and do not need to apply. Residents who are pre-authorized have already been informed that they are eligible.

In addition, households receiving OKDHS assistance that did not meet the preauthorized selection received a letter announcing the seasonal open enrollment period for Winter Heating. It may take the utility provider up to a full billing cycle for your LIHEAP payment to appear on your utility bill since Winter Heating assistance is not an emergency program.
